So.......Hello again lovely creative people.....:) I know it's been a bit......but.... today I bring to you a mixed media canvas I decided to make for my son's teacher. Not sure what inspired me to make it.....but once it was in my head I couldn't get it out til it was actually on canvas. Don't you love/hate when that happens....lol.
Anyway I created this on a canvas panel from Michaels. Let me tell you this sucker was a pain to create.... until I got into my groove that is; you know that sweet spot when everything just aligns and feels right.....well it took a lot!!!! of gesso and white acrylic paint to get there, and that was before I really got to play with my new toys. It felt like christmas I tell ya.....You see I recently ordered some sprays from Lindy's stamp gang....and let me tell you I am in love.....love....love....love...love! I love the colors, I love the shimmer, I just love these little suckers of colorful gold. Beautiful!
Anyhow.....moving on from my new obsession.....I used homemade texture paste to create the background along with cutouts made with my other love.....my silhouette cameo. I used it to cut out the apple, and some other pieces. I also used recollections wood stars and alphas. The little ruler I got at hobby lobby, and I used tim holtz grunge stamps in the background. The sentiment was written by me....and let me tell you it took a bit to decide what I wanted it to say. All I knew was that I wanted it to end with the word Learn.
